Farm Projects is pleased to present next to you next to me. : Works on Paper from the Farm Projects Print Room. This special exhibition draws together a selection of works on paper by sixty-four artists represented in the Print Room, celebrating the act of finding connection, even amid difference. next to you next to me. is about drawing sometimes unexpected connections: standing side by side in our similarities as well as our differences and finding harmony and beauty in incongruence. “It’s my way of protesting,” says gallery director Susie Nielsen. “In a time of division, I wanted to create a show that meets the moment and reminds us that proximity—visual, emotional, human—still matters.”
The Print Room at Farm Projects was established to showcase an evolving collection of affordable, original works by contemporary artists working across media. Made up of flat files and folios, it offers an extraordinary experience: the chance to have close encounters with art on an intimate scale. Visitors are invited to slow down, open drawers, and discover pieces that reward quiet attention.
Building on this spirit, next to you next to me. highlights the immediacy of mark-making, the tactile intimacy of paper, and the shared vulnerability inherent in both viewing and making. It is a reminder that art, and the act of being with it, can be a profound gesture of connection.
